Here are some block prints that imitate the results of this printing process. I made each one by laser-etching a square of laser-safe HDF or printmaking linoleum to show the cut surface in relief.
During a laser cutter outage, I bought a carving tool and cut the print below by hand. One corner shows a downside of hand-cutting: it takes hours, rather than minutes, to make a cut, but it still only takes seconds to make a mistake.
