Masaki Kashiwara Receives the 2025 Abel Prize

IHES extends its heartfelt congratulations to Masaki Kashiwara (Kyoto University) on being awarded the 2025 Abel Prize in Mathematics, “for his fundamental contributions to algebraic analysis and representation theory, in particular the development of the theory of D-modules and the discovery of crystal bases.”

In addition to being a visitor to the Institute, Masaki Kashiwara’s 70th birthday was celebrated at IHES in 2017 with a four-day conference on Algebraic Analysis. Recordings of all the lectures are available on the Institute’s YouTube channel, here.
