Hong Wang awarded the 2025 Ostrowski Prize

Hong Wang, Permanent Professor of Mathematics at IHES, has been awarded the 2025 Ostrowski Prize. Established by the mathematician Alexander Ostrowski, the A. M. Ostrowski Foundation awards this prize every two years to researchers who have made outstanding contributions to mathematics.

Hong Wang is recognized for her work in harmonic analysis, in particular for her proof of the Kakeya conjecture in dimension three, obtained jointly with Joshua Zahl.

The award ceremony, attended by Hong Wang and her PhD advisor Larry Guth, took place on 21 November in Copenhagen.

IHES extends its warmest congratulations to Hong Wang on receiving this prestigious distinction.
