Principal Investigator : Julio PARRA-MARTINEZ
Duration: 2 years, with a possiblility of extension of 1 year

IHES is advertising one (2+1)-year post-doctoral position in theoretical physics with a starting date in fall 2026. All candidates working on scattering amplitudes, effective field theory and/or gravitational wave physics broadly defined are encouraged to apply. Candidates working on gravitational self-force, post-Minkowskian and post-Newtonian theory, numerical relativity, or more generally precision computations of observables in gravity and collider physics, will receive special consideration. Successful candidates will work with Prof. Julio Parra-Martinez within the ERC StG project “GravitaS”, and will also be able to interact with the other IHES physics faculty Thibault Damour (emeritus), Slava Rychkov, and Clément Delcamp, as well as benefit from the vibrant IHES visitor program and physics community of the greater Paris area.

The IHES scientific environment provides superb conditions for research in theoretical physics.

The position will be covered by highly competitive package funded by ERC including:
– a salary and full health coverage
– housing in the IHES residence
– subsidized access to the cafétéria for lunch Monday through Friday
– funds to participate in scientific events related to the project.
