Thierry Bodineau Appointed Director of the Alexander Grothendieck Laboratory (LAG)
IHES is pleased to announce the appointment of Thierry Bodineau as Director of the Alexander Grothendieck Laboratory (LAG).
Founded in 2015 as a Équipe de Recherche Labellisée, the LAG became a Joint Research Unit (UMR 9009 CNRS–IHES) in 2020, further strengthening the long-standing partnership between IHES and the CNRS.
The laboratory’s mission is to bring together and support research in mathematics and theoretical physics, while fostering stronger ties between IHES and the French scientific community. More recently, the Joint Research Unit has expanded its hosting capacity to welcome faculty members on secondment to the CNRS for periods of up to six months. This framework provides an ideal environment for developing collaborations with researchers based outside the Paris region.
