
Maxim Kontsevich and Jérémie Szeftel named 2025 Frontiers of Science Award laureates in Mathematics
IHES is proud to announce that Maxim Kontsevich and Jérémie Szeftel have been named recipients of the 2025 Frontiers of Science Award in Mathematics.
Maxim Kontsevich, Permanent Professor at IHES, has received the award in the field of Mathematics of String Theory and Condensed Matter for his paper “Algebra of the infrared and secondary polytopes,” co-authored with Yan Soibelman (Kansas State University) and Mikhail Kapranov (Kavli IPMU, University of Tokyo).

Jérémie Szeftel (CNRS, Sorbonne Université, currently visiting IHES) has received the award in the field of General Relativity for his paper “Kerr stability for small angular momentum,” co-authored with Sergiu Klainerman (Princeton University).
