Greater Paris postdocs in mathematics Welcome Day

Special event for all math post-doc from Paris Region on Tuesday October 21, 2025, at IHES

This year, the Special event for all math post-doc from Paris Region will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at IHES, in the Marilyn and James Simons Conference center.

Organized jointly with the FMJH and the FSMP, the goal of this welcome day is to provide young mathematicians with an opportunity to meet their colleagues, help newcomers find out more about the mathematical environment in the Paris region, including possible funding opportunities for future research projects, and give an overview of the French (academic) job market.

To attend this special day, go to the FMJH website to register.

12th ITZYKSON Seminar – “Quantum Spectral Problems in Mathematical Physics”

Organized by the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard (FMJH), the Itzykson seminar will take place on November 27, 2024.

Itzykson Seminar – FMJH

Running since 2012, the Itzykson Seminar at IHES is the main event of the Mathematics & Physics Program of the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard (FMJH). The seminar aims to bring together scientists from the Saclay area working in mathematics and theoretical physics. The event is particularly geared towards early-career researchers including master’s and PhD students, and postdocs.

This year, the seminar will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Marilyn and James Simons Conference Center at IHES.

Organized by Sylvain Ribault and Pierre Vanhove (both from IPhT Saclay), the seminar will address Quantum Spectral Problems in Mathematical Physics, exploring recent advances linking quantum spectral issues to challenges in mathematical physics. These advances yield exact results on the spectrum of new classes of differential and difference equations.

The program includes a lecture and two talks, presented by:

Alba Grassi, Université de Genève
Yilber Fabian Bautista, IPhT Saclay
Alessandro Tanzini, SISSA Trieste

Participation is free, but registration by November 20, 2024, is required. The talks will be recorded and made available on the IHES YouTube channel after the event.
