Duration: 2 years (with possible extension by 1 year)

Description

IHES offers­ two 2-year postdoctoral position, with a possible extension of 1 year, in mathematics beginning September 2024 and funded by the ERC grant of Professor Yilin WANG.

All candidates working on Schramm-Loewner evolution, Liouville quantum gravity, Liouville conformal field theory, random surfaces, analysis of determinants of Laplacians, stochastic analysis on manifolds (finite and infinite-dimensional), stochastic gradient flow, hyperbolic geometry, geometric function theory, complex analysis, quasiconformal mappings, Teichmuller theory are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates holding a PhD in Mathematics.
The selection will be based on the excellence of previous scientific achievements and the quality of the scientific project.

Contract details:

The IHES scientific environment provides superb conditions for research in mathematics and theoretical physics.

The position will be covered by a competitive package funded by the ERC including:

– a salary and full health coverage
– housing in the IHES residence
– access to the cafeteria for lunch Monday through Friday
– funds to participate in scientific events related to the project.
