IHES is advertising one 3-year post-doctoral positions in mathematics with a starting date in the fall 2027, funded by the Simons Foundation programme:

« Simons Collaboration on Perfection in Algebra, Geometry, and Topology “

Candidates with a strong background in arithmetic geometry, algebraic topology, analytic geometry, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, homotopy theory, and/or number theory are invited to apply. PIs in the Paris region are Kęstutis Česnavičius, Pierre Colmez, Wiesława Nizioł, and IHES mathematics faculty member Dustin Clausen.

Contract details

Selected candidates receive a salary, are covered by health insurance (Social Security and supplemental health insurance). They  may be housed in one of the IHES residences in exchange for a monthly rent contribution during the first two years. They have access to the Institute’s facilities (cafeteria, office, library, seminar room, etc.).

Some funding will also be available to participate in scientific events related to the project.

The postdoctoral fellow will be requested to write a report at the end of the year on his/her scientific accomplishment comparing it with the initial Project and describing the perspectives.
